The Green Dragon
Built from an instrument the color of legend and named for a place where independence found its voice.
The Green Dragon transforms an emerald-green Glarry electric guitar into a one-of-one functional artifact, preserving the instrument’s unmistakable identity while giving it an entirely new purpose.
Long before revolution became history, taverns were places where ideas traveled, alliances formed and ordinary people imagined a different future. Boston’s Green Dragon Tavern became one of those places as a gathering ground for the Sons of Liberty and others whose conversations helped shape the American Revolution.
The Green Dragon carries that spirit forward: independent, unconventional and unwilling to remain what it once was.
The original guitar forms the heart of the piece beneath a 3/8-inch cast-acrylic top, individually contoured to follow the body. Four black stainless-steel standoffs suspend the acrylic above the instrument, creating a subtle shadow line that keeps the guitar visually distinct beneath the surface. Four black hairpin legs complete the transformation with a lean, architectural stance.
The original maple neck and Glarry headstock are fitted with a concealed hinge, allowing them to fold downward 90 degrees into the artifact’s intended display position. This deliberate structural detail preserves the guitar’s defining elements while giving the finished piece its compact, sculptural profile.
At approximately 24 inches high, The Green Dragon works as a side table, conversation piece or singular work of functional rock-and-roll sculpture.
Its emerald-green finish, black pickguard, exposed strings, pickups, control knobs and chrome hardware remain central to its story. This isn’t furniture borrowing the language of legend. It is an instrument transformed in the same spirit honoring what came before while moving decisively toward what comes next.
Expect the character and evidence of a previous life that belong to a repurposed instrument. These details are preserved rather than erased because the history of the object is part of the artifact.
Where legends gathered. Where freedom took root.
One artifact. One guardian. Many Stories.
Every Detail Earned. Every Story Preserved.
